Madison, Wis. - John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Donald W. Simms II, an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution at Oxford, Wis., was sentenced on Friday, September 21, 2012, by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 12 months in prison for possession of contraband. He possessed marijuana and a cellular telephone.

Judge Conley imposed this sentence to run consecutively to Simms’ current prison sentence. Simms pled guilty on July 9, 2012 to possessing contraband while an inmate.

The charges against Simms were the result of an investigation conducted by FCI-Oxford, Special Investigation Supervisors and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Peter Rank and Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy M. O'Shea.
